Here's another piece I'm working on in 3ds max. Just getting used to the program.

It could work, but if there's anything else you could add please don't hesitate.

"Reactorbomb" is a possibility, it's very reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII; the first thing you do in the game is raid some reactors that have interiors much like your WIP, like a nuclear power plant.

Starting on a minor critique bit, please ignore if you weren't after a critique of the work:
Now, at this point it's a scene, but lacks a purpose/point of focus. If you do go with the Reactorbomb idea, you could add some elements to it that indicate the reactor malfunctioning, or at least some point of focus that creates danger and some tension in the piece, as if there's a timebomb there that needs to be deactivated. I don't know anything at all about 3DS Max, but if it's possible to add cracks around that circular reactor door and those supports in the right-half of the image, that would make the piece even more impressive: instead of just being a good-looking environment, it'll be a good-looking environment with a story to tell.

Actually the idea with the cracks on the door sounds like a pretty good idea. Ill try and see if I can add cracks in Photoshop, since the whole image took me about 17 hours to render even with my new gaming computer.

17 hours?! ohmy.gif

What render engine is used for the scene?

Really?? That's an intense render then! biggrin.gif Good luck with adding the cracks in there!

Hmm, I'm neither familiar with 3ds nor V-Ray but 17hours is pretty darn long. Did you render it at 1600x1200px? But anyways, pretty neat render you brought up there.

A little thing which I'd like to see in there would be a glow or some fog at the bottom so that it looks more deeper and/or more mysterious. Also, I'd suggest that you work a little on the door. The 2nd-"outest" ring (oh dear, that sounds awkward, hope you get what I mean) seems to have a little less polygons; it isn't as circle-shaped as it is supposed to be.

There's another thing that is bothering me, and that are those... I am missing the word... ummh... I'm talking about the things I encircled:

They're a little flat. Flat as in "not too much textured". In my opinion, it could look a little more rusty/worn out than just plainly flat.

Well, that's all I can say without repeating other people's thoughts. Great job, mate!

As for a title, how about the following?
"The Gate"
"Behind Closed Doors"
"In The Heart"
"Entrance"

Oh, by the way, I love your signature!

For one, thanks for the critique and I'll see what I can do. Texturing the pieces shouldn't be that hard and neither should the fog and the bottom of the chasm. The only problem I'll have is the making the secondary circle more round without screwing up the door's geometry.

pretty nice render there man. Maybe play around with the PoV in 3ds max, and get something a bit more dynamic. Also try looking at http://ikaruga.deviantart.com/ for inspiration as to where to take this obvious skill in moddeling wink.gif

agree on the above comments,
I will title as The Vault...
Some light source would add some drama, and maybe some sci-fi robots or humans,
to add scale to the vault, reactor or whatever....
love to see the finish result....

Still working on it, but thanks for your input. Now I just have to see what time I should start rendering and wait 17 hours later.
