Hey, what new music have you been listening to? Whatever you're listening to, whether you're into it or not, who it is, how you came about them, whatever! Post whenever you find something new and interesting - I'm always looking into new groups!

At the moment I'm listening to blessthefall, a post-hardcore band I found on Last.FM (related bands: A Skylit Drive (my favourite band), Asking Alexandria, The Word Alive) who just kinda grabbed me with the album "Witness". I'm listening to the song Witness right now and enjoying it pretty good. What do you think of them? Or anyone else you may be listening to? smile.gif

For the past 3 days I've been listening heavily into the King Arthur Soundtrack by Hans Zimmer...it's absolutely breath-taking and does not fail to knock me off my feet! It fills my head with so much imagination that unfortunately I forget them quickly to replace them with new imaginations.

And I've been listening to She and Him. For some reason I cannot escape Zooey Deschanel's jazzy voice...ahh she sounds quite sexy lol(please understand I can be a little weird when I describe my feelings)

The most exotic and interesting of feelings cannot be explained without sounding "weird." It's a fact. smile.gif

I'm gonna look into those - in the meantime, what types of music do you usually look for, or do you look for music within any specific genres at all? I know a lot of people, musicians and listeners alike, don't like labeling music all that much due to the ambiguity of some genre names (don't even get me started on "metalcore" XD ), but labels on music are there for some meaningful reason, in my eyes. Actually, while I'm still thinking about it, how do you usually come about your music?

EDIT: She & Him sounds like music I grew up with 'cause my dad listened to it so much! He listened and still listens to old-school rock & roll and very old country music. Oldies, '50's rock. That kinda music. biggrin.gif

I haven't really been listening to much music lately, but when I do I like Audiomachine (search it on youtube, some really great stuff), Film OST's (prob my fav's are those two alone), rap such as Jay-Z & Drake, and rock (30 seconds to mars, breaking benjamin to name a couple).

Sounds like a pretty diverse taste you have there, Kaioshen! I take it you listen to more newer rock than older rock? More 30STM and Breaking Benjamin than AC/DC and Guns 'n Roses and Blue Oyster Cult? smile.gif

Question for everyone: What's your favourite movie OST? Ocean's Thirteen for me. biggrin.gif

Oh, favorite OST? Whew, that might be hard for me. But, if I really had to choose one out of what I have right now, I would say Casino Royale. Some good action music and then it gets pretty moody and brings out the softer side, second might be Pirates of the Caribbean. If you can tell, I like action music and stuff that gets my imagination flowing, most of the time it doesn't work that way, but it's good to listen to anyway.

As far as rock, yeah I like the newer stuff more, but I do have plenty of ACDC songs that I love to play as well.

I listen Heavy Metal most of the time, here are some gropus
Dream Theater
Metalica
Sonata Arctica
Iron Maiden

and if im not listening that I just turn on the radio and leave it there.

I was once looking for cool movie soundtracks at youtube, and found many of our works being used as a presentation of that music ( mainly phoenix and taenaron) here is the link of 2 of them, its from phoenix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwDZe7zXEsg...eos=eZhb7MEAMQw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8u8jKreG6o...feature=related

here is one from taenaron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuCqSLSZN-U...eos=byVvXhxKlgU
and mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v7iSRYEesg...feature=related

you will find the others on the right bar

The music expresed so amazingly well with those works that I didnt know if I should tell this guy to remove it. At least he credited me on this video where he used my work. So I didnt do anything yet. but I didnt see any credit on yours.
Still dont know what to do :/

I listen to so many OSTs but my tastes will always move forward and try new OSTs so I can't say I have a fave, however I am a HUGE fan of Hans Zimmer.

I usually listen to jazzy, alternative/indie, techno, or lounge/electronica music, along with much OST. Closest things to anything rock-related is Muse, Arctic Monkey, Relient K, Goo Goo Dolls, and some others I can't recall.

+1 to Breaking Benjamin

My favorite band which I will never get tired of listening to is Muse though. Inevitably I end up listening to a fair deal of Radiohead too.
Other than those 3 my music taste is really varied though, I tend to go for the rock bands of the last decade a lot.

Nice choices there. biggrin.gif

Since everyone's posts are containing links, here's a few for sampling some music I've been listening to:
A Skylit Drive Suggested: Those Cannons Could Sink A Ship!, All It Takes For Your Dreams To Come True, Drown The City
blessthefall Suggested: What's Left of Me, God Wears Gucci
Asking Alexandria Suggested: If You Can't Ride Two Horses at Once...., Hey There Mr. Brooks
Emarosa Suggested: Utah, I Am Waves

Just a couple weeks ago I discovered this really underground group, Chamber of Echoes. Their music is done by one woman, a singer and musician, and I can best describe it as industrial electronica with singing. I enjoy it, you'll probably want to listen to Esoteric to get an idea of her sound. Somemore interesting music for you to check out. biggrin.gif

After looking into it, I'd love to, but it's not available in the United States. I don't suppose I'd be able to pass off as a UK resident, but if I can, the free accounts are invite-only.

Sonata Arctica
Sorry, I just HAD TO point that out. One of my all-time favorite bands! biggrin.gif
btw, @keepwalking: what do you think of their (by now not so) new album? Sounds a little different than what they've used to produce.

Recently I've been enjoying a Spanish Power Metal band called "Dark Moor". They mostly combine classical tunes with metal creating some sort of epic, symphonic, power metal (lol). Here are a few songs of them:
Dies Irae
Faustus
Swan Lake
The Chariot
